SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Two people on a date were charged after a traffic stop in Spartanburg County, according to the deputy's report.

Deputies said they were attempting to pull over a motorcycle on Friday for not having a licence plate when a car tried to block them from getting behind the motorcycle.

The deputy was eventually able to get behind the motorcycle and the black Mercury merged into the deputy's lane forcing him onto the curb to avoid a collision, according to the report.

Deputies pulled over both vehicles and found the people had just finished a date, according to the report.

Deputies searched for warrants on the rider, James Hopkins, 32, and found he had outstanding warrants for attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Deputies say he also had a gun on him at the time of the arrest.

The driver of the car, Sapphira Johnson, 30 was charged with reckless driving, failure to yield and hindering an officer in an arrest, according to jail records.
