PICKENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Central man has died following an early morning crash in Pickens County on Saturday, according to the Coroner.

Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened on Highway 93 near Quarry Road around 2:30 a.m.

Troopers said a 45-year-old male was driving southbound in a 1965 Ford Mustang, when he crossed the center line and struck another vehicle head-on.

Coroner Kandy Kelley identified the victim as Preston Batson, Jr., of 137 Windy Court.

Kelley said Batson wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the car.

Kelley said he was pronounced dead at the scene. She listed Batson's cause of death as blunt force trauma.

Troopers said the driver and a passenger in the other vehicle were taken to the hospitals.
