ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Over 800 Athletes from near and far tested their endurance during The Revolution 3 Triathlon in Anderson.

The event was one of many events scheduled as part of Balloons Over Anderson hot-air balloon festival weekend.

The triathlon started with a swim at the city of Anderson's recreation area on Lake Hartwell. Tri-athletes swam either a .9 or 1.2 mile course for that leg of the competition.

Once the swim ended at Darwin Wright Park, the competitors began either a 24.8 or a 56 mile bike ride.

The ride ended at the Anderson Civic Center, where the athletes then continued on either a 6.2 or a 13.1 mile run.

Friends, family, and fans didn't miss a minute of the action. They were able to watch it unfold on a Jumbotron TV that was set up outside the Civic Center.

The event also featured a special kids' zone to keep children entertained.
