ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly motorcycle wreck that left an Anderson man dead.

Troopers said it happened just 2 a.m. Saturday.

They said the motorcycle was traveling south when it hit a curb near the intersection of Michelin Boulevard and Warner Road. The motorcycle then flipped several times, ejecting the driver. Troopers said the driver died on scene and wasn't wearing a helmet. His passenger, Marleen Connor was transported to Anmed with non-life-threatening injuries.

Anderson County Deputy Coroner Don McCown says the driver has been identified as Daniel Allen Nash, 39, of Anderson.

McCown says Nash died of massive head trauma. He says that alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash.
