A South Carolina group is raising awareness about gun violence this weekend.
The state chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is holding a news conference on Saturday in Greenville.
Organizers say speakers include Safe Harbor executive director Becky Callaham and Think2xTwice.org CEO Traci Fant.
The gathering is part of a national push for stronger legislation dealing with domestic violence and gun ownership. The group is also drawing attention to a recent report by the Violence Policy Center that ranked South Carolina as having the worst homicide rate among women killed by men.
