TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The I-10 widening project from Prince to Ruthrauff is reaching another milestone.

In just a few hours, several trucks will be rolling down the I-10 from Phoenix to Prince Road.  The trucks will be carrying 22 concrete bridge girders.  Each girder is 155 feet long.  They will be used for a bridge at Prince, so that cars can travel over the Union Pacific Railroad tracks.

It is all part of the more than $76 million I-10, Prince and Ruthrauff Road widening project.  The Arizona Department of Transportation stated before the project began there was a pretty big back up if the train was passing through.  ADOT stated the bridge will allow for a smoother traffic flow on Prince.

This will be the third and final bridge span for this construction project.
