From family-friendly frights to trick-or-treating, here is a list of various Halloween events across the western Carolinas.

Multiple Days

BOOseum at The Children's Museum in Greenville: From Oct. 24-31, the museum turns into a BOO-seum, with silly alien antics, a spooky show, special Halloween themed art projects and more. Free with museum admission, during regular museum hours. The museum also has special events on Oct. 25 and Oct. 26, visit their website for more info.

Boo in the Zoo: On Oct. 25, 26 and 27, the Greenville Zoo offers trick-or-treating fun in the evenings for families. Click here for more info on times, prices and more.

Denver Downs Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze: Until Nov. 2, Denver Downs offers hay rides, a pumpkin patch, a corn maze and more along Highway 76 in Anderson. Click here for more info.

Hero of the Bible: An interactive and fun Halloween alternative event at Clearview Baptist Church at 5611 State Park Road on Oct. 30-31 from 6:30-9 p.m.

Laurens County Haunted Jail: To raise money for their Christmas for Kids program, the Laurens Co. Sheriff's Office turns the old jail into a haunted attraction. It's open Oct. 25-26 and on Halloween from 7:30-10p.m. and costs $7. It's located at 216 W Main St. in Laurens.

Sat. Oct. 26

Autumn Harvest at The Saturday Market in Greenville: Trick-or-treating, costume contest for the kids, cupcake walk, fall recipe swap, Spooky Science Lab with The Children's Museum and more along Court Street in downtown Greenville from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Boo in the Barnyard: A fall fundraiser for Dogwood Terrace Stables in River Falls (Marietta). The event will feature a bake sale, cake walk, games, pony rides, hay rides, costume contest and live music with the Arvie Jr. Band. The event is from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. The stables are located on River Falls Road.

Halloweenfest in Transylvania County: A family-friendly festival with a costume contest, bouncy houses and a pumpkin roll down Courthouse Hill from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Brevard.

Howl-o-ween: Pet and family-friendly events held the Biltmore Square Mall in Asheville from 11a.m. - 3 p.m.

Halloween event at Tractor Supply in Mauldin: From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., kids and pets can compete in a costume contest. Happy Hooves Pig rescue will be at the event too.

Trick-or-Treat Trail: Along West Main Street in Pickens from 5-8 p.m.

Sun. Oct. 27

Boo in the UU: Halloween games and candy, costume contest and more at Unitarian Universalist Church of Spartanburg. Profits go to Backpack Buddies. Event is from 5-7 p.m.

Tues. Oct. 29

Halloween at Greer Station: Trick-or-treating, pumpkin carving and more at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Depot on Trade Street.

Thurs. Oct. 31

Asheville Mall Trick-or-Treating: The mall in Asheville hosts trick-or-treating from 5-6 p.m.

Haywood Mall Trick-or-Treating: The mall in Greenville hosts trick-or-treating from 5-7 p.m.

WestGate Mall Trick-or-Treating: The mall in Spartanburg hosts trick-or-treating from 6-9 p.m.

Sat. Nov. 2

Zombie 'Out' Run: A 5K race and a family-fun 1-mile run at Simpsonville's Heritage Park. Click here for more info.
