UNION, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Laurens man is accused of breaking into a relative's Union home while she was at the tanning bed, according to deputies.

On Oct. 10 the victim called the Union County Sheriff's Office to report a break-in at her Whitmire Highway home.

Deputies said the victim found shattered glass throughout her home, a destroyed gun cabinet, six guns missing, and the backdoor of the home open.

Deputies brought in a bloodhound to search for the suspect and found a shotgun shell and some clothes along the way, according to their report.

Deputies said a witness reported seeing a 2001 pewter Camaro in the area at the time of the break-in.

The victim told deputies before the break-in, her cousin Lance Walls, 18, had stopped by and asked to go inside to get some clothes he had left there, the report said. The victim told him he was not welcome because of something that had happened previously, deputies said.

The victim then left to go to her mother's home to use her tanning bed for 20 minutes, deputies said.

Deputies said they signed warrants for Walls on charges of first-degree burglary and grand larceny. According to Laurens County deputies, they arrested Walls on Oct. 20 in connection with a separate case.
