CLEMSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Clemson University police said a man followed a student from downtown back to her dorm room on campus.

Police said the man entered the dorm without permission and went to the student's room. When he entered it, police said the girl ran away to another friend's room.

The student did not know the man, according to police. They said he is not a student or staff member at the university.

Quincy Burt, 21, was arrested and charged Thursday with first-degree burglary, a felony.

Burt was released on a $10,000 personal recognizance bond and was placed on trespass notice to stay off Clemson University property, police said.

Anyone who sees him on campus is asked to call 911.
