GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Greenville County family was given an early morning Halloween scare after deputies said masked men broke into their home while they were sleeping.

Deputies said the home invasion happened along Gage Court about 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

The victim, LaTonya White, said she was home with her husband and two children when three masked men, dressed in all black and armed with guns, barged into their home.

She said the men were yelling and demanding money, but she told them she did not have anything, so one of them hit her in the face with his gun, busting her lip.

That's when her husband jumped out of a window to distract the intruders, who chased after him, hitting him in the head before fleeing, White said.

White told deputies the men had ski masks on and fled on foot. She said they recently moved into the home, and though nothing was taken, she's ready to move.

"We're just very lucky, very blessed to not have been shot," said White.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 864-23-CRIME.
