ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Anderson County Deputy Coroner Don McCown said he is working with troopers to determine if a man found dead Friday morning died as a result of a hit-and-run.

The Highway Patrol said they believe the wreck happened at 3:30 a.m. along Broadway Lake Road and Shirley Drive.

McCown said troopers found Victor Lance Smith, 36, of Anderson at the scene. Smith died from blunt force trauma, McCown said. He said that he and troopers were still investigating whether Smith's injuries could have resulted from a hit-and-run or some other trauma.

FOX Carolina spoke with neighbors who live near where the accident happened. They said people often walk the roads to-and-from the lake and home. Neighbors also said there have been several accidents near the intersection.

Troopers are looking for a vehicle suspected to be involved in the accident. They are looking for a 2005-2010 Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger or Dodge Magnum, with noticeable damage between the center front, right front and undercarriage of the car.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Highway Patrol at 864-241-1000 or Crime Stoppers at 888-CRIME-SC.
