ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Asheville police have announced the escort route for fallen police officer Rob Bingaman.

Investigators said the 37-year old died after his patrol car went over the Jeff Bowen Bridge Tuesday afternoon.

Investigators are still working to determine if Bingaman was responding to a call at the time of the wreck.

The department said funeral services for the six-year veteran will take place at Biltmore Baptist Church, located at 35 Clayton Road in Arden, Monday, November 4 at 10:00 a.m.

Police said the escort route will begin on Clayton Road to Long Shoals, then to I-26 West to I-40 East and exit on exit 59. The funeral procession will exit left onto Highway 70 East to Grovestone Road, and then onto Old Highway 70 to the Western North Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery.

Police said to expect traffic delays between 11 a.m. and noon Monday because intersections will be blocked during the escort to the cemetery.

Police said the public is allowed to park on the side of the road and pay tribute to Officer Bingaman in areas where it is safe to do so.

Members of the public wishing to pay tribute to SPO Bingaman may do so in safe areas.

Police said the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office will cover the Asheville Police Department's service calls during the ceremony and burial so that all of Bingaman's brothers-in-arms can attend.
