Happening today, resident's
voices can be heard by those who are working to pass new immigration reform
Experiences of some
Southern Arizona residents may actually help in the decision making process.
There will be an
immigration reform symposium at the Arizona School for the Deaf and Blind this
evening at 6:30 p.m.
Residents will be able to
get their questions about immigration reform answered. The response panel includes U.S.
Representative Raul Grijalva, along with leaders from the Tohono O'odham Nation
and the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, as well as mayors from Nogales, Bisbee and
Douglas. U.S. Representative Ron Barber
is also scheduled to be at the symposium, which will not have a debate format
and instead will be an opportunity to educate residents on the different pieces
The symposium will be at
the Arizona School for the Deaf and Blind, at the Berger Performing Arts Center
1200 W. Speedway, it is free and begins around 6:30 p.m. tonight.
