After more than two years, someone is charged with the murder of Chicopee's Amanda Plasse. That man is now behind bars.
Dennis Rosa Roman, 22, of Springfield, has been charged with the murder of Amanda Plasse.
Plasse was found stabbed to death in her apartment on School Street in August of 2011.
Until Tuesday, nobody was charged with her murder.
Investigators are not releasing much information about how or where Rosa Roman was captured.
"Specifically we are not going to give out any detail, except about what is said in court about this investigation of this individual," said Hampden County District Attorney Mark Mastroianni.
The family of Amanda Plasse was in the courtroom to see Rosa Roman accused of taking her life.
Prosecutors asked that the suspect be held without bail, which the judge granted.
Rosa Roman made a plea of not guilty at his arraignment.
Mastroianni said this arrest is due to the hard work of investigators, but their job is not done.
"This investigation for us do3esn't end today. this is a new starting point with us, this investigation will continue to go on. we will continu8e to work as tirelessly as ever with putting this case together and moving it on through the court process," said Mastroianni
Rosa Roman is due back in court on Nov. 18.
