Greenville Co. deputies investigate $20K copper theft

SIMPSONVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies are trying to find out who stole $20,000 worth of copper wiring from a Simpsonville business.

Greenville County deputies said someone broke into FitesaFiberweb's property by cutting a hole through their fence sometime 2:30 p.m. Monday and 2:20 p.m. Tuesday.

Deputies said the Southeast Main Street business reported two similar thefts in the past week, with the burglars getting in through similar means.

According to a 2009 press release, the company produces lightweight nonwovens for the hygiene products industry and is their the corporate headquarters.

Anyone who may have information on the thefts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 864-23-CRIME.
