Police: 2 children struck by vehicle in Asheville

ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Two children were struck by a vehicle in Asheville around 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, according to police. 

Troopers said both kids, who are in Elementary school, are in serious condition.

Troopers said a car was headed west on Airport Road in front of a Walmart, when two small kids entered the roadway and were hit.

Troopers said the kids were being accompanied by an older adult male but got away.

Troopers said the driver of the car was not injured.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the incident, which happened on the 70 block of Airport Road.
