Police: Roads back open after Woodruff gas leak

Posted: Updated:
WOODRUFF, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Woodruff police said a gas leak at the Pizza Hut shutdown some neighboring roads and kept kids inside at nearby schools for about an hour Friday.

Police said they don't have details about the leak, but because of it, students at Woodruff Elementary school were kept inside. Some parents let FOX Carolina know they received calls saying students were being kept inside at the primary and high school as well.

Drivers in the area were forced to find alternate routes as officials had U.S. 221 at Cross Anchor Road closed and the surrounding area near the Pizza Hut blocked.

The leak was repaired and everyone was given the all-clear about noon.
