Police are investigating the vandalism of six tombstones at Oakwood Cemetery.
According to the report from the Spartanburg Public Safety Department, the vandalism was discovered Friday morning by two people walking through the cemetery.
The report went into specific detail on what damage was done - two large crosses, two small square tombstones, one large square tombstone and one small pillar tombstone were all either knocked down or broken.
This is not the first time Oakwood Cemetery has been the site of vandalism.
In June, police said 25 graves were vandalized at the cemetery. In 2012, a skull was taken from a gravesite at Oakwood. Police are still investigating both cases, and said that none of the vandalism cases appears to be related.
Police believe this most recent case of vandalism happened sometime after 8:30 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 p.m. Friday.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the Spartanburg Public Safety Department or CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC (274-6372).
