GREER, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greer police are investigating a man's death after his truck ran off of Wade Hampton Boulevard, hitting a phone pole and hydrant Monday morning.

The wreck happened at U.S. 29 at Arlington Road near Kia of Greer. Lt. Jim Holcombe with Greer police said the wreck happened at 6:15 a.m.

The driver ran off the side of the road for a ways before hitting a hydrant and pole, before coming to a stop, according to Holcombe. He said the man did not have any visible signs of trauma, even from the wreck.

The Spartanburg County coroner said the victim was 49-year-old Johnathan Robert Lecroy of Pacolet.

The coroner said Lecroy was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.

Toxicology results are pending and an autopsy is planned for Tuesday, the coroner said.
