Orangeburg lawyer to run against Graham

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (AP) -

A fourth Republican is entering the race against U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham.

Orangeburg attorney Bill Connor began his bid to replace Graham at the Myrtle Beach Tea Party meeting Monday night.

Connor says Graham is not conservative enough to represent South Carolina. Connor says he chose to announce his candidacy at a tea party meeting because he is proud to be a tea party Republican.

Connor unsuccessfully ran for lieutenant governor in 2010. He joins state Sen. Lee Bright of Spartanburg, Upstate businessman Richard Cash and Lowcountry businesswoman Nancy Mace as candidates who say they will run against Graham in the June primary.

Graham is running for a third term.
