The Spartanburg Humane Society is asking the citizens of the Upstate to rally together to raise money for a little dog in need.

Her name is Lilly. She was brought to the Spartanburg Humane Society, by animal control officers from the City of Spartanburg after finding her abandoned on a city street with a badly injured leg.

After a full veterinary check by Spartanburg Humane Society veterinarian, Dr. Herron, Lilly, as named by the SHS staff, was determined to have a severely broken leg, after being hit by a car.

Dr. Herron was able to immediately set the leg, to prevent further damage and in an effort to make little Lilly more comfortable but she did determine that unfortunately, surgery was in Lilly's future in order for her to lead a normal, full of fun and life.

Staff at the Spartanburg humane society says Lilly isn't phased by her oversized cast. She is entertaining herself putting her new cast in her water bowl and giving her cage of blankets a quick bath.

If you want to help Lilly you are asked to donate to the Guardian Angel fund. You can designate your gift, so it will go right to Lilly's recovery. The website is:

"The Guardian Angel Fund was created to extend critical care to those defenseless animals who come to us with treatable illnesses and injuries but have no chance to survive without extraordinary measures by a talented and devoted vet staff jumping into action," Shail Radloff, executive director said.

"We are asking the community to rally around Little Lilly so she can quickly begin her recovery and then begin her journey to her forever home," Radloff added.
