A former Kentucky police officer was arrested Friday in connection with a double murder that happened nearly twenty years ago.
Edward Carter, 43, was arrested by Warren County Sheriff's Office at the request of Kentucky State Police.
Carter was wanted by authorities based on a murder investigation from Christian County, Ky., located about 65 miles west of Bowling Green. According to area news reports, Carter and two others were indicted in connection to a brutal shooting and stabbing at a massage parlor on Sept. 20, 1994.
Carter was a police officer at the time.
His last known address was in Mason, Ohio. Using a License Plate Reader system, Warren County Sheriff's detectives were able to establish Carter was in the Tri-State area in August 2013.
Deputies located Carter's SUV in the parking lot of the Deerfield Township Days Inn where he was arrested on Saturday.
He was taken to the Warren County Jail and extradited to Kentucky.
