ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Famed evangelist and western North Carolina resident, the Reverend Billy Graham, has been hospitalized, according to his spokesperson.

Graham, who celebrated his 95th birthday on Nov. 7, is suffering from a reoccurring respiratory congestion issue, Mark DeMoss, spokesman for Graham said. According to WBTV, Graham was hospitalized in Asheville.

"Mr. Graham is in the hospital with a respiratory congestion issue, similar to what he had a few weeks ago. As was the case then, we expect he will be able to return home in a day or two," DeMoss said.

Graham celebrated his birthday at the Grove Park Inn with hundreds of close friends, family, celebrities, religious leaders and more.

At the event, a recorded message aired from Graham as part of his documentary The Cross.
