GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Even on a chilly Wednesday afternoon, Joseph Fulwood walks around Greenville to get where he needs to go.

"I don't know, I don't know what we're going to do, I really don't," Fulwood said with a handful of groceries in his hands.

He shifted several bags of groceries from a Save-A-Lot and drug store, which are his new shopping stops, but not because he wants them to be. He said it's because a BI-LO Grocery store is closing.

"Since they're going to close now, I'll have to go up to Walgreen's and Walgreen's don't have the things I need," Fulwood said.

The BI-LO sits on the corner of North Main Street and West Park Avenue in Greenville. He lives in the Towers East Apartment Complex, which houses those who are on fixed incomes, have disabilities and many don't have transportation.

"A lot of people that's in this area here that come out of Towers East are in wheelchairs and elderly folks, where they can't get to the store," he said.

Billie Jo Foster said she shops at BI-LO too for the prices and convenience.

"If you need milk, butter or sugar or something like that," Foster said.

The BI-LO sits just below Towers East.

"A lot of us can't afford that price at Publix," Foster said.

She said Publix is the only other grocery store in the area and is about a mile away.

"It's going to be kind of hard," she said.

Foster said it's too far to walk, so she'll probably use the bus which means more money out of her pocket.

Rondel Cuyler, Director of Public Relations, Community Involvement and Charitable Giving with BI-LO released this statement:

"From time to time, the successful execution of our strategy will require us to make the difficult decision to close certain stores. We are proud of our history in the Greenville Community and appreciate the support of our customer and BI-LO associates," Cuyler said.

And as Fulwood walked off, he wants another store to step in and take over.

The BI-LO store is scheduled to close Nov. 30, 2013.
