Dean Kelly's re-arrest comes as no surprise to some

Updated:

NEW ORLEANS - Dean Kelly spent less than two months out of jail before officers picked him up again.

"This guy is backing up a long jail term. I've never made predictions on T V, but I predicted two months ago that this guy would violate his probation," said FOX 8 Legal Analyst Joe Raspanti.

The 42-year-old was accused of raping two teenage girls in 2005 as well as repeatedly harassing women through social media.

Kelly, though, pleaded guilty to lesser charges of sexual battery and felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile on Sept. 30.

"He received a 10-year suspended sentence and was required to register as a sex offender. There were a number of other conditions, including that he was not to use social media under any assumed name to be able to do what he had done before," said attorney Lindsey Ladouceur.

Ladouceur's client is a young woman who says Kelly raped her when she was 14 years old. She said her client was happy with the original plea deal, but isn't at all surprised to hear Kelly's been arrested again.

"This is exactly what I had predicted would happen. I don't believe the man can stop himself," Ladouceur said.

This isn't the first time Kelly has broken the terms of his release. After originally being arrested and posting a $1.5 million bond, Kelly was found to have invited women to his parents' St. Charles Avenue home during Mardi Gras.

He was thrown back in jail, but eventually let out on bond again.

In July, the Sheriff's Office found a woman inside the boat house where he was staying, so he was sent back to Orleans Parish Prison.

Kelly is now facing 10 years in prison for violating his parole.
