GAINESVILLE, FL (RNN) - No. 16 Florida had no problem playing without two of its key point guards, easily defeating Middle Tennessee University 79-59.

The Blue Raiders (4-1) kept up with the Gators (4-1) for the first half, keeping the deficit no higher than nine points. Florida grabbed the lead about four minutes in and held onto it through the rest of the game, dominating by as much as 24 points in the second half.

Both teams didn't have much luck with 3-point shots. Florida made only four of 12 attempts, and Middle Tennessee made only six of 19.

Patric Young led the Gators with 16 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals.

This was Florida's 19th consecutive win at home. They hit the road for their next game against the Jacksonville Dolphins on Monday, Nov. 25.
