Leicester, NC (FOX Carolina) -

The Buncombe County Sheriff's Department said in a press release Saturday that the remains found in the James Drive area of Leicester on Thursday night are those of a missing woman.

The release states the remains have been positively identified as 23-year-old Cheyenne Nichole VanTreese of Asheville. Investigators are still working to determine a cause of death.

VanTreese was reported missing Nov. 5 but was last seen in early October.

Deputies said Vantreese was found on the same road as a double-homicide investigation only a day earlier.

On Wednesday, Joy Runne, 45, and Andre Runne, 44, were found shot to death in a home on James Drive, according to deputies. Joy's son, Vincent Franklin, 25, was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of armed robbery, according to deputies.

Van Duncan said after Franklin's arrest they received information that led them back to the home where they found Vantreese.

Franklin has a child with the missing woman, VanTreese, The Buncome County Sheriff confirmed.

Deputies have not yet confirmed if the two cases are related.

The Buncombe County Sheriff's Department said they are working with the Asheville Police Department, who is handling the missing persons case.
