GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The coroner's office has released the autopsy results in the case of an 11-week old baby that Greenville County Deputies said died after being physically abused.

According to the Coroner Parks Evans, the boy died as a result of non-accidental head injury, which Evans classified as a homicide.

Deputies said the child was in the care of Tarran Marteious Edwards, 26, when he became unresponsive on November 18.

The baby was declared brain dead at the hospital two days later, Evans stated in the autopsy report.

Shortly after the child's death, deputies said they charged Edwards with abuse to inflict great bodily injury upon a child.

Deputies said investigators will meet with the solicitor's office on Monday to determine if Edwards will face additional charges.
