Greenville City Council Moves forward on downtown development
GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
The Greenville City Council voted in favor Monday of a new development in downtown Greenville.
It was the second and final reading for plans on the new development along Stone Avenue between Main and Rowley Streets. The council approved the plans at a first reading earlier this month.
City officials said the new development will be a combination of commercial and residential spaces. No major road changes are expected, but officials are planning to build a new intersection to alleviate traffic problems. We are told they are also doing traffic studies to make sure they make the most efficient changes.
Officials say groundbreaking is expected in the fall of 2014.
City officials are working with Beach Equity Investments, LLC to build the new development.
