GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Paladins were in Orangeburg Saturday, where they took a win over South Carolina State in the first round of Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.

Furman won with a final score of 30-20.

Furman claimed the Southern Conference championship last Saturday with their 27-14 win over Wofford College.

This will be the school's 16th FCS playoff appearance - the first in seven years.

Kickoff against the Bulldogs is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Oliver C. Dawson Bulldog Stadium.

Now the Paladins will go on to face the FCS no. 1 seed and two-time defending national champion North Dakota State on Dec. 7 at 3:30 p.m.
