LAURENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Laurens County deputies said two suspects are in custody in connection with a burglary at a local grocery and bait shop.

Deputies said the break-in happened at Crewnshaws Store on Highway 221 south of Laurens sometime between Nov. 29 and Nov. 30.

The suspects were able to get away with about $240 cash and $1,000 of goods from the store, deputies said.

Later on, deputies said Simpsonville police contacted them after they arrested Whitney Maness, 31, on Saturday in a separate case as a suspect in the burglary case.

According to the Greenville County Detention Center website, Maness is being held on a shoplifting charge.

Deputies said they identified the second suspect on Monday and he was arrested Tuesday morning at a home on Mountainview Road in Gray Court.

Deputies said Maness and Daniel Bennett, 36, face second-degree burglary and larceny charges.
