GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A lobby at a local children's hospital received a fun and high-tech upgrade after a $300,000 gift on Tuesday.

The Children's Hospital of Greenville Health Systems had a ribbon cutting on Tuesday for the new interactive space that will include an interactive wall, which games can be played on.

The 1,900-square-foot lobby was transformed into an underwater themed space with 200 painted metal fish hanging from the ceiling and three mirror windows where children can play games. The space also has a saltwater fish tank and a charging station for electronic devices.

"By making this space more child-friendly, we are giving our patients and their families a place to have fun and be themselves during a difficult and stressful time," said Dr. Bill Schmidt, medical director of GHS Children's Hospital.

The space was funded with a $300,000 gift from the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation.
