RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

At least 1900 customers experienced power outages early Wednesday morning following at least one reported transformer fire, and several reports that other transformers were blown throughout Richmond's Northside.

The confirmed fire happened about 4:00 a.m. in the 1000 block of West Graham Road, according to Richmond Police. When crews arrived on scene, they saw heavy flames and smoke near an apartment complex. Virginia Power were called out to the area to help deal with the situation. Authorities have not confirmed that this is related to a transformer being blown.

Emergency crews also investigated several reports of nearby transformer problems, including one along the 2200 block of Northumberland Avenue, the 2300 block of Chamberlayne Avenue, and the 2300 block of Brook Road. It is unknown whether or not those incidents yielded any fires.

No one has been reported injured in the incidents.
