Police: Passenger killed in Forest City single-car crash

FOREST CITY, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Forest City police are investigating a crash that sent the driver to the hospital and killed a passenger early Wednesday morning.

Police said the accident happened at East Main Street near Alexander Street about 1:45 a.m.

Officers shut down East Main Street from South Broadway Street to Elizabeth Avenue while they investigated the wreck.

Police said Raven Moore, 18, of Mooresboro, was driving a Dodge Neon when the car ran off the left side of the East Main Street and hit a tree, killing the only passenger. Police identified the passenger as Sebastian Loukaitis, 22, Bostic.

The driver was taken to Cleveland Regional Medical Center with injuries, police said.

The crash remains under investigation and police said no charges have been filed in the case.
