ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

The Buncombe County Sheriff said they are investigating the discovery of two bodies as a murder-suicide case.

Buncombe County deputies said the investigation was going on at a home on David Court in the Mount Carmel community Wednesday.

Deputies received a call at 7:55 a.m. and when they arrived at the home, they said they found a man and woman who appeared to have been shot to death.

Sheriff Van Duncan said they believe "very strongly it's probably a murder-suicide" case as there were no signs of forced entry to the home along with other things inside.

He said they have spoken with someone who was inside the house when shots were fired. Duncan said they are also looking at previous calls deputies have made to the home to see if they were relevant in the death investigation.

Deputies identified the victims as Madonna Cox, 40, and Jeremy Henson, 37. Deputies said they lived at the David Court home where they were found dead. Deputies said they are still waiting on autopsy reports to determine the cause and manner of death for both victims.

Duncan said they are investigating a large number of homicides this year, and depending on what Wednesday's investigation reveals, the count rise. He said in the past couple of months, "We have had a large amount, an unusual amount of homicides in Buncombe County."

"They have all been, as far as we know at this time, unrelated, all tragic," Duncan said.
