Two-time Football Championship Subdivision winners North Dakota State will open postseason play against an unfamiliar team from a familiar conference.
Furman is a member of the Southern Conference, which includes two teams NDSU defeated in last year's playoff run. The Bison held off Wofford 14-7 in the quarterfinals and Georgia Southern 23-20 in the semifinals.
Wofford coach Mike Ayers says Furman and NDSU are similar because both teams are disciplined and have several playmakers. He says it should be "an interesting game."
NDSU head coach Craig Bohl says Furman is "a program that's got a long storied history and a good track record."
Furman brings an 8-5 record to the Fargodome to face the 11-0 and top-ranked Bison.
