Deputies: Man files false report after drug deal goes bad outside DQ

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said a man who said he was robbed in a parking lot in Greenville County on Thursday night has been charged with filing a false report.

Lt. Tim Ridgeway, of the sheriff's office, said the man was involved in a drug deal that went bad, then called authorities and said that he had been robbed.

Ridgeway said the man claimed he was robbed in the parking lot of the Dairy Queen on W. Blue Ridge Drive.

During the investigation, a woman was also arrested.  Ridgeway said she was charged with drug possession and possession of stolen goods from a burglary in Pickens County.
