LYMAN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Police are looking for one of three cars that hit and killed a pedestrian in Lyman on Thursday night.

Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger said the accident happened at 10:23 p.m. when a woman was in the roadway and was hit along Greenville Highway in front of the post office.

Lyman police said the 18-year-old was hit near Pine Ridge Road by three different cars, one of which fled the scene.

Police said they are looking for a white sedan that should have front-end damage that may have been seen in the area at the time of the crash.

A FOX Carolina photographer on the scene said West Greenville Highway, which is also Highway 29, was shut down for a quarter of a mile while law enforcement investigates.

Clevenger identified the victim on Friday as 18-year-old Destiney Lee Bray-Champion of Lyman.

Clevenger said Lyman police are investigating the hit-and-run crash and ask anyone with information about the car to call them at 864-439-8445 or Crime Stoppers at 864-58-CRIME.
