Myrtle Beach beats Daniel for state AAA title

COLUMBIA, SC (AP/FOX Carolina) -

Sean Huggins kicked a 22-yard field goal as time expired to give Myrtle Beach a 24-21 victory over Daniel to win the Class 3A state championship Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium.

The Seahawks (12-3) won their seventh state title and the first since 2010.

Neither team led by more than seven points. Jae'lon Oglesby, who finished with 173 yards rushing, gave Daniel a 14-7 lead in the third quarter with an 81-yard scoring run. CJ Finley caught a 19-yard touchdown pass to tie it at 14 entering the fourth quarter.

Graham Vaughn, who had two touchdown catches, gave Myrtle Beach a 21-14 lead with seven minutes remaining. Daniel (14-1) tied the game at 21 with 4:02 remaining on a 5-yard touchdown run by Austin Barnes.

Myrtle Beach set up the winning score by going 67 yards in 12 plays.
