GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A pedestrian is dead he was hit by two cars early Sunday morning in Greenville County, and troopers said they are searching for one of the vehicles involved after the driver fled the scene.

Lance Corporal David Jones with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said a 19-year old Greenville woman was driving south on White Horse Road just after midnight and struck a pedestrian that was crossing the street, about 2 miles west of Greenville.

A second vehicle also struck the pedestrian and did not stop at the accident scene, Jones said.

Greenville County Coroner Parks Evans said the pedestrian died at the scene. Evans identified the victim as Stephen Hughes, 55, of Greenville.

The cause of death is pending an autopsy, which is scheduled for Monday, Evans said.

Troopers continue to search for the driver who fled the scene.

No charges have been filed against the other driver.
