SENECA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Fire officials in Oconee County said they were called out to a working fire at a home that Oconee deputies said was the scene of a robbery and attempted arson on Thanksgiving Day.

Jimmy Watt with the Oconee County Sheriff's Office said deputies and agents from the State Law Enforcement Division were called in to investigate the fire.

Watt says firefighters were called to the fire at the Agnes Street home in the Utica Mill Hill area near Seneca just before noon Sunday.

Watt said an unidentified burglar broke into the house on Nov. 28 and stole more than $10,000 worth of belongings from the home

Watt said the suspect attempted to set the stove area on fire in the kitchen.

Watt said the cause of Sunday's fire is still under investigation.

There's no word if the fire was connected to the previous crimes.
