Angel Tree program urgently in need of gifts

Posted: Updated:

The Salvation Army of Greenville County announced on Monday that they are urgently in need of gifts for their Angel Tree program.

On the days leading up to Christmas, the Salvation Army said they are short of providing almost 4,000 area children with gifts and clothing during the holiday season.

"Today's count of Angel Tree children who have been adopted so far shows very concerning numbers. We have 1,195 out of the approximately 4,000 Greenville County children from the Angel Tree program that still need to be adopted so that they'll have a Christmas this year. The Salvation Army urgently asks for the community's help. Please consider how you may help these Greenville County children in need or provide Christmas for a child through your local Salvation Army Angel Tree program," said Maj. Kent Davis, area commander for the Salvation Army.

Angel Tree tags may be picked up at Haywood Mall or Subway restaurants.

The Salvation Army asks that the gifts be returned by Thursday, Dec. 12 to the TD Convention center or the Haywood Mall.
