ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Asheville police have charged a limousine driver accused of driving under the influence in the crash that killed a couple from Pennsylvania in August.

Police said Rodney Koon, 46, of Asheville, was charged with DWI and two counts of felony death by motor vehicle in connection with the Aug. 11 crash along Interstate 26.

Just after 11:10 a.m. that Sunday, police said Koon was driving the Lincoln Town Car that crashed into a tree over an embankment on I-26 east past the I-40/I-240 interchanges.

The two passengers in the limo were William Reid, 26 and Jamie Reid, 25, both from Philadelphia.

The couple had been married nearly three months and were in Asheville for a friend's wedding at the time of the crash, according to reports from Philadelphia media outlets.

According to reports, Jamie was pregnant and Will told paramedics to help her first after the crash. The teachers died from their injuries, according to police. Police said Koon was also injured in the crash.

Koon was released on a $55,000 unsecured bond following his arrest Friday.
