Tryon officials lift boil water advisory after water line break

Posted: Updated:
TRYON, NC (FOX Carolina) -

The advisory asking Tryon residents to boil water has been lifted.

The city said a boil water advisory was in effect until further notice on Tuesday night after the water line break in the Melrose Avenue extension area earlier in the day.

Town officials said all water used for human consumption (including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation) should be boiled for one minute.

Public works officials notified FOX Carolina that the advisory was lifted onThursday morning.

Customers in the Melrose/Doubleday Road area and surrounding areas were affected by the break, police said.
