MARIETTA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Three people escaped a fire at a home in Marietta on Tuesday afternoon, the Slater-Marietta Fire Chief Marion Cruell told FOX Carolina.

Cruell said the fire was called in at about 1:30 p.m. on Friday and firefighters arrived to see smoke coming out of the windows.

The fire started in a second floor bedroom and all three people in the house were able to get out of the house safely, according to Cruell.

The chief said he thought the cause of the fire might have been an electrical short, but did not think it was caused by Christmas lights.
