ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The father of a 4-year-old girl who was left on a stranger's doorstep in Anderson has pleaded guilty in connection with the neglect case, according to court officials.

According to the 10th Circuit Solicitor's office, Alonzo Brown pleaded guilty to unlawful neglect of child in connection with the abandonment of Zoe Brown in April.

Initially referred to as "Little Jane Doe," Anderson County deputies said she was left on the front porch of an Anderson man's Brooke Forest Drive home and it took deputies a few days to identify her.

On the fourth day, deputies said they received a tip from a distant family member that led to her identification and arrest of her parents, of Marietta, GA. He said the relative saw the little girl's picture on a TV news broadcast and recognized her, then called authorities.

Brown and Zoe's mother, 37-year-old Tongela McBride, were both arrested. McBride remains in jail awaiting her next hearing in connection with her unlawful neglect charge.

The solicitor's office said Brown was not yet sentenced. A date for his sentencing has not yet been set.

Zoe was placed in DSS custody and was to receive treatment for some of her medical issues. When she was found, deputies said she had surgical scars and was small for her age.
