Police: Ex-Greer High teacher had sexual relationship with student

GREER, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greer police said they have arrested a woman accused of having a sexual relationship with a male student while she taught at Greer High School.

According to police, allegations were made about Jessica Bollinger, 31, and the school's principal asked her about the report that she had sex with a student.

Bollinger told the principal she'd had relations with the student but the act occurred in June, after the student had graduated.

Police said Bollinger admitted to having sex at least five times and typed up a statement detailing the relationship, according to the report. The principal spoke with others about the relationship and passed it along to police, the report said.

Police later arrested Bollinger, charging her with sexual battery with a student 16 or 17 years old, no aggravated force or coercion.

According to Bollinger's arrest warrant, police said she engaged in sexual battery during the 2012-13 school year while she was a teacher and the 17-year-old victim was a student.

Police said Bollinger was no longer employed at the school.

According to a Greenville County Schools spokesperson, Bollinger was placed on administrative leave on Nov. 20 as part of the investigation. The district said she was the choral teacher at Greer High.

Bollinger resigned on Nov. 22 during the district's investigation after teaching at the school since 2004, according to the spokesperson. The district said they will pass along their findings to State Department of Education to take action regarding Bollinger's teaching certificate.
