GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Salvation Army of Greenville County is extending the end date of their Angel Tree program this year because sponsorship is down.

People who would like to help a child in need during the holidays can now pick up angels as late as Monday, Dec. 16, the Salvation Army announced Thursday during a luncheon.

Donations were originally due on Thursday, Dec. 12, but it's extended because participation in the event is down this year. Donors looking to help can pick up an angel as late as Monday, but the donations must be returned by Wednesday, Dec. 18.

The Salvation Army asks that the gifts be brought to the TD Convention Center or the Haywood Mall in Greenville.

The Angle Tree program matches families in need with donors who help provide them gifts and clothes during the holiday season.
