Salvation Army still short on donations as Christmas deadline nears

GREENVILLE, SC (AP/FOX Carolina) -

Monday is the last day to adopt an Angel from the Salvation Army Angel Tree and according to the organization there are still 100 Angels in need of adopting.

The Salvation Army says they'll be putting all 100 Angel Tree tags out at their location inside the Haywood Mall in Greenville, across from Macy's.

Tags can be picked up all day Monday and include the child's name, age, clothing sizes and a few Christmas wish list items. Items purchased for your Angel need to be dropped off to the TD Convention Center in Greenville no later than Wednesday, Dec. 16.

The Salvation Army drop-off site is located right inside the TD Convention Center's main entrance at the James H. Woodside Conference Center.

The Salvation Army says they are also in need of single toy and monetary donations. Those donations also need to be dropped off at the TD Convention Center by Wednesday.

They say their greatest need is donations for children ages 10 to 13.

For those looking for an easier way to help, you can text "Greenville" to 80888 to make a monetary donation in the amount of your choice.
