Deputes: Suspect on the loose after Greenville Co. shooting

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A verbal altercation led to a shooting of a man near downtown Greenville, according to the Greenville Co. Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said they were called out to Sixth Avenue near C Street just before 11:30 Monday morning, after a man reported being shot on the lower portion of his body.

Authorities tell FOX Carolina that the man shot did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

Deputies said they have no one in custody at this time, but added that they were looking for a silver Chevrolet with possible Florida tags.  Deputies also added that the suspect and victim were acquaintances.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Greenville Co. Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers at 23-CRIME
